    Account Manager – New York, NY or Englewood, NJ

    We are looking for an Account Manager with experience managing large financial client conferences and meetings.  You will be responsible for increasing the client partnership through working directly with meeting planners and operation departments. Working with SmartSource, Director of Sales, Director of Financial Services, and Operation Manager ensuring client satisfaction and retention. The ideal candidate has a history of understanding and achieving account sales budgets, managing client contacts to identify, and can work with internal company departments. In addition, the account manager will need to travel and be onsite to project manage small to mid-size conferences or meetings.  

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinating internal and external resources and vendors for estimating and quoting to high level client executives and meeting planners
    • Receive client RFPs, create quotes to review with operation, director of sales and account stakeholders for approval and invoicing
    • Travel monthly to local, regional or national conferences & meetings interfacing with client’s staff and SmartSource operation teams.
    • Be the first line of engagement for onsite changes including additional equipment or labor
    • Participate in monthly or quarterly review meetings with key account stakeholders
    • Develop and maintain key account plans that identify opportunities for company to deliver value, strategic motivators, main stakeholders, buying processes and forecasted sales
    • Demonstrated ability to grow both breadth and depth within existing account in order to secure share of wallet
    • Create account plans and strategies to win new business from both new as well as existing client
    • Develop and manage account to gain strategic positioning with decision makers, retain existing revenue and attain additional business
    • Cultivate and convey persuasive sales messages and proposals

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated professional account or internal project management experience, preferably with experience in the financial and banking market
    • Strong working knowledge of IT solutions for conferences and events
    • Experienced and comfortable managing Wall Street type clientele, highly confident and polished
    • Must be a strategic thinker and account seller
    • Outstanding written and oral communications skills
    • Effective time management skills, with strong organization and prioritization abilities
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of CRM software (i.e. Salesforce) is also required
    • A positive, can-do attitude with a desire to continually improve performance and take it to the next level
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Ideal candidate should reside within reasonable commuting distance of New York City or New Jersey (Preferred)
    • Travel domestically approximately 50%
